Firstly this past week we have began recording. I have also decided to only record 2 songs and make it a single release rather than a whole EP due to the fact that not only did I feel that the songs had more potential to them but also due to the fact that the songs themselves were quite long and so I felt like the 2 songs that we were going to record were more than enough for a single release. Lastly I also thought that 3 songs were more of a minimum of a EP and so if I was to release a EP I'll rather release at least 4 songs. This made me come to the conclusion that I'll much rather prefer to release 2 singles which could then lead to a EP than a short (3 track) EP which could lead to a LP. I just think that I'll rather spend more time and not rush music in order to be satisfied with the results.
During the end of the week we have began recording bass guitar. Firstly Kristian was mean't to record the bass parts but due to reasons beyond our control he couldn't make it and so instead I had to record them in order to not lose any time. I also had to get someone to help me record as it was quite difficult on my own. I had managed to get Rueben to help me record and so he was in charge of the desk while I was playing bass. This had allowed me to collaborate with someone from the 2nd year that I wouldn't of most likely collaborated with otherwise due to the reasons that they would be either moving onto a different university or to degree at our college which would make it more difficult to collaborate. By the end of the week I had finished recording Bass for the 2 tracks. Also Pete had helped me mic up the bass amplifier in order to get a good tone.
Next week I am planning to record Guitar and Vocals and to start mixing.
