Assignment evaluation

To begin with I think that throughout this assignment I have learned quite a lot simply as at the beginning of the assignment I had aimed for quite a bit more than I had achieved as I had thought the process of finding band members and rehearsing would have gone much more easily. A barrier that I had faced since the beginning of the assignment was getting a vocalist as well as a drummer. On the other hand finding a bassist and a guitarist was much easier simply as I already had spoken with Kristian at the beginning of the assignment and he had agreed to do Black Sabbath with me. Also we got Ieuan to play bass for us quite quickly but we had to wait until about a week or 2 before the event to actually get a drummer. Wilf was kind enough to join Kristian, Ieuan and me on this performance. I also should have looked sooner in other years for a vocalist as I was mainly looking to find someone from our course while I could have also looked for a vocalist in level's 1 and 2's as well as in the second year of level 3.

Moving onto our rehearsals I would say they had gone quite smoothly most of the time, sometimes we would have struggled to get down the structure as it was mainly just Ieuan and me during rehearsals as Kristian also had another band that he played with and so he had to rehearse with them as well. The rehearsals themselves had been quite relaxed as Ieuan and I had just learn't our parts first and after we would have learned for example the verse we would then play it together until we had the timing right. By ding this we were able to step by step improve our playing which then made us feel more comfortable with playing the song. Usually we would have Kristian come after lunchtime to see what we were up to and then to rehearse with us. We were lucky enough to have Kristian who had previously learn't the song and so by doing this all we needed was just to make sure Ieuan and I knew the song well.
