Now as I have decided to play guitar, I have to decide which song I would have to play. In order to help me choose which song to do I have began listening to a lot more 50's and 60's related songs. I have also thought of doing a original but I realised that I am not that confident yet within these decades to create my own song, even if I tried it would have been quite a big risk to get it down and rehearse it in a month. Now after thinking which song to do I decided to start off with choosing a genre that I will want to play and I am already pretty sure that I will aim to go with hard rock or early heavy metal such as Motorhead or Black Sabbath as I predict that not many other people will decide on playing anything heavy and so I will be able to stand out from the other performers on this specific event. Then once I choose the genre and band I'll begin to decide which song I should do as then I will know what to look for and it will make the process a lot easier than going through all songs that are related to the 50's and 60's. By using this process I have decided that I will do Black Sabbath as they have plenty of blues elements which relates to the 60's and they also formed in 1969. Also the band had formed the metal genre which as I said in my other blog I mainly play and also as I said before on this blog I will aim to play early heavy metal. Another factor that made me decide on choosing Black Sabbath is that I grew up listening to them a lot and so I am pretty familiar with their songs which will make it easier for me to learn the one's that I choose.
After looking through Black Sabbath's catalogue I decided that I will do War Pig's and Paranoid as War Pig's is quite a longer and slower track then Paranoid, also I know both songs pretty well already and so all I got left is to learn my parts and rehearse them.
