To start off I have decided that for the event I would play guitar as that is my primary instrument and so it'll be good for me as I would feel more confident on stage with it. I have also thought of being a producer or engineer for the event but I realised that I don't have enough knowledge for a role like that and so I don't feel in the position to do the engineering or production. In order for me to do this next time I would first need to learn different techniques which I should use and I would need to have some experience practising before the actual event.
Moving onto my technical abilities I think that I shouldn't experience many problems along the way practising and learning the song that I would choose as I am used to playing complex and fast riffs as my primary genre which I like to play is metal. This allows me to learn songs with more ease as in the 50's and 60's most of the songs weren't very fast, they were up tempo but nothing above 200 beats per minute. Also it was common in these times for songs to have a simple structure not to mention that plenty bands then began using power chords which seems to make the songs easier to learn and memorise.
Lastly playing the guitar for the event will give me more experience for future show's and I will have the chance now to experiment with different genre's which also would be good for future as if I was to play in the style of the 50's or 60's. I would then know more characteristics of these decades which would result in me being more confident playing them in the future.
