For our performance I decided to work with Aidan and Jack due to the fact that previously we have been working together and we got along quite well. The only problem was the fact that we didn't have a drummer. We then started rehearsing some songs that we already new and some new ones in order to decide what our setlist would be. The songs that we rehearsed at first were Danger danger high voltage by Electric six, Jerk it out by Caesar's palace and Get lucky by Daft punk. We then decided to not do Get lucky as we personally didn't think it would fit the set.
After our Christmas break we managed to get Kristian to drum for us, he did a really good job on both songs. We then started to work on the structure of both songs. Over the next week we managed to rehearse both songs on multiple occasions and even perform Jerk it out in front of our class.
We were now feeling quite comfortable with both songs but our problem was the fact that both songs don't last the ten minutes that are required. This is why I then started to rehearse with James Feltwell and we planned on doing two songs, them being Evil dead by Death and Refuse\Resist by Sepultura. This is as those two songs a,ong with my other bands two songs would be more than ten minutes. We really struggled to find a drummer for our performance and we only managed to get Wilf to drum for us a week before the performance. After getting Wilf to drum for James and me we then decided that we won't have enough time to learn and rehearse both songs so we decided that we'll only do one which was Sepultura's Refuse\Resist.
On the week of our performance Kristian also got ill meaning we didn't have a drummer for the performance, we then asked Jack from year one to drum for us to which he agreed. We then rehearsed both songs with him and he got the hang of them really fast. We then thought we should do another song or two as we were already comfortable with Jerk it out and Danger danger high voltage therefore we knew we could push ourselves a little bit and reach that ten minute mark. After trying out 2 songs by Nirvana and one by The killers we decided to do Jenny was a friend of mine by The killers as Aidan was a lot more comfortable doing the vocals for it.
